ADVANCED WATER SKILLS

The Water Rescue Advanced Technical Skills course enables students who hold Water Rescue One Technician qualifications to move on to the application of high line systems, search methods and advanced boat rigging.

Students will learn to set up and operate rope rescue rigging especially adapted for use in water dominated environments.

Advanced rope work is used to enable rescuers to evacuate causalities from the water using casualty strops and stretchers. Rope systems for use with non powered craft are also introduced and developed to increase the range of rescue options available. The search element includes night work enabling personnel to experience all the potential issues associated with work in this environment.

The core skills are assessed practically and through a written paper at the end of the course.
